The free Sin Bandera concert in Playa del Carmen on September 15 has been officially confirmed by municipal president Estefanía Mercado as the headline performance for the city’s Independence Day celebrations.
The event will take place at Plaza 28 de Julio, in the heart of Playa del Carmen, bringing music and traditional Mexican festivities together on one of the most important nights of the year in Mexico.
Ximena Sariñana will open the celebration
The evening will begin at 9:00 p.m. with a performance by Ximena Sariñana, who will open the musical program for residents and visitors gathered in downtown Playa del Carmen.
After her performance, the traditional Grito de Independencia ceremony will take place, led by municipal president Estefanía Mercado as part of the celebrations commemorating Mexico’s Independence.
Sin Bandera will headline the night
Following the traditional ceremony, Sin Bandera will take the stage for the grand finale of the September 15 celebrations.
The duo, formed by Leonel García and Noel Schajris, will perform in Playa del Carmen as part of their Escenas Tour, giving audiences the opportunity to enjoy their music completely free of charge.
The setlist is expected to include some of the duo’s best-known songs, including Entra en mi vida, Kilómetros, Que me alcance la vida and Sirena — songs that have made Sin Bandera one of the most recognized romantic music acts in Mexico.
