Getting around Mérida just got a lot simpler. On September 1, TRAYEK, a new Mexican ride-sharing app, officially made its debut at Plaza Centro del Paseo on Paseo de Montejo, offering locals a fresh alternative for daily travel.
The app promises safe, comfortable rides at fair prices, and it stands out by removing driver commissions and eliminating surge pricing, which often makes trips more expensive during busy hours.
At the launch, CEO Reynolds Moyer and Legal Director Mario Tello explained that Mérida isn’t just the first city for TRAYEK—it’s the starting point for a wider expansion across Yucatán and eventually the rest of southeastern Mexico.
Unlike other platforms, TRAYEK operates on a subscription model, with plans ranging from MXN 149 per day to MXN 3,200 per month. Drivers keep the full fare for every ride, which could boost their monthly income by up to 40%.
Safety and trust are key: drivers register through the app, with photo verification handled at the company’s headquarters. All vehicles must be 2017 models or newer, ensuring a modern, comfortable ride every time.
For its launch, TRAYEK rolled out special promotions: the first week of September is free for drivers, plus a 50% discount for anyone who signs up this month. Even in 2025, a 15% weekly plan discount will remain, showing the company’s commitment to supporting local drivers.
Currently available on Android, TRAYEK is set to launch on iOS soon. With one simple click, Mérida now has a ride-sharing option that’s transparent, fair, and reliable.
“We’re here to change the way people move around the city,” the team said—an ambitious goal that could reshape private transportation in Yucatán.
