After two long years, the most terrifying circus in Mexico is back with a brand-new production that blends horror, art, and adrenaline — from October 17 to November 9 next to City Center Mérida.
MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN — The Circus of Torments makes its long-awaited comeback to Mérida with an all-new show titled “Pánico”, promising an intense, spine-chilling experience that pushes the boundaries of live entertainment.
This time, the diabolical clown Phenex will reign over the stage, ready to welcome — or rather, torment — his “victims” during a 90-minute journey into darkness. Expect stunning circus acts, live music, eerie lighting, and high-impact visual effects that bring pure terror to life.
At a press conference held at Bonampak Centro, Phenex joined Israel Montero and José Contreras, producers and masters of special effects, to unveil details of this new season. They described Pánico as “the most immersive and cinematic” experience ever created by the Circus of Torments.
Featuring more than 25 performers on stage, this isn’t a haunted walk-through — it’s a fully produced circus spectacle that fuses theatrical storytelling with fear and fascination. Every element — from costumes and set design to music and lighting — has been meticulously crafted to make audiences feel as if they’ve stepped into a living nightmare.
