Fut Fest en el Caribe Mexicano: Cancún, Tulum, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres y Bacalar vivirán el debut de México en el Mundial 2026

The Mexican Caribbean Fut Fest is getting ready to turn Mexico’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup into a destination-wide celebration across Cancun, Tulum, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Bacalar.

On June 11, locals, visitors and football fans will gather in some of Quintana Roo’s most recognizable public spaces to watch Mexico vs South Africa, bringing together the passion of the national team with the energy, scenery and festive spirit of the Mexican Caribbean.

Under the slogan “Passion that unites us, paradise that inspires us,” the Fut Fest will offer a shared World Cup experience beyond the stadium, with public viewing areas, family-friendly activities and a celebratory atmosphere in five key destinations.

In Cancun, the event will take place at Malecon Tajamar, one of the city’s most spacious urban waterfront areas. With its open-air setting, lagoon views and easy access, this venue is expected to become one of the main gathering points for fans looking to experience the opening match in a large public fan zone.

In Tulum, the celebration will be held at the Esplanade of the Municipal Palace, a central location for residents and visitors. The event will bring the World Cup atmosphere to one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, combining football, community and the destination’s international appeal.

In Cozumel, fans will gather at the Esplanade of the Flag, one of the island’s most emblematic public spaces. The waterfront setting will give the match a distinctly Caribbean feel, making it an ideal spot for families, tourists and football fans to support Mexico in an open-air environment.

In Isla Mujeres, the Fut Fest will take place at Playa Centro, in front of Posada del Mar. This beachside venue will host activities from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the Mexico vs South Africa match scheduled for 2:00 PM. The program includes raffles for the first 100 attendees, table football, a mini fair, contests and family activities.

In Bacalar, the celebration will be hosted at Bacalar Main Park, a central meeting point in the Pueblo Magico. The event will allow residents and travelers to experience Mexico’s World Cup debut in a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere surrounded by the cultural and natural identity of southern Quintana Roo.

The Mexican Caribbean Fut Fest aims to make the start of the 2026 World Cup a shared experience across the region, connecting football fans with some of the most visited destinations in Mexico.

With five confirmed venues and a full day of celebration, Quintana Roo is preparing to welcome the World Cup with music, activities, national pride and the unmistakable energy of the Mexican Caribbean.
